Paying Online with U.S. Funds — eCheck or Credit Card

eCheck

An eCheck is a direct withdrawal from your checking or savings account. Any checking or savings account can be used, provided it allows a direct draft, and is drawn against an account with a U.S. bank. Equity line accounts and investment accounts cannot be used for ACH debit transactions.

  • You have the option to securely save your bank account information in a Payment Profile if you don't want to enter it each time you pay.

Credit Card

  • 2.75% credit card service fee (domestic card), nonrefundable
  • ​​​​​​​4.25% credit card service fee (international card), nonrefundable

Frequently Asked Questions

No, only the profile owner can see or use the saved profile. It will be shown with the profile name assigned, type of account and last digit(s) and cannot be viewed for editing.

Funds will be withdrawn at the end of each business day, typically within 24-48 hours of payment submission.

Virginia Tech uses a payment system called Transact for viewing eBill statements and making payments for tuition and fees.
